Ship the First Frontend-to-API Vertical Slice

Connect the web app to the API and use browser/network evidence to understand the complete HTTP exchange.

Work through it one observable step at a time

Write the request and response contract before writing fetch code.

Call `GET /tasks` from the web application and inspect URL, method, headers, status, timing, and JSON.

Add `POST /tasks` and return 201 with the created resource.

Send malformed input and verify the chosen 4xx response.

Force a server failure and distinguish 5xx behavior from client errors.

Run frontend/API on different origins and configure the narrow CORS policy needed for development.

Compare cookie and bearer-token request shapes without treating either as authorization by itself.

Document the final API contract with examples.
